Within the Department cutting-edge research is conducted over a wide spectrum in the fields of both theoretical and experimental physics, which include the following:

The high standards of the research activities of the Department can be evidenced by the number of publications  of its faculty members in scientific journals  and the corresponding number of citations, the ability of its faculty members to attract European research programmes, as well as by the on-going collaborations of Department's members with scientists of well-established research centers and Universities from abroad. Post-doctoral Research

The Department offers post-doctoral research positions, according to the Greek legislation (ΦΕΚ 1884/24-5-2018).
